PROCLAMATION

RE: FOR-HIRE FISHING PERMIT

Dr. Louis B. Daniel III, Director, Division of Marine Fisheries, hereby announces that effective 12:01 A.M., Tuesday, July 1, 2008, the following will apply to the requirement for permits for For-Hire Fishing Vessels:

I. FOR-HIRE FISHING PERMIT

Proclamation M-12-2006, dated September 27, 2006 IS RESCINDED.

II. GENERAL INFORMATION:

A. This proclamation is issued under the authority of N.C.G. S. 113-170.4; 113-170.5; 113-182; 113-221.1; 143B-289.52 and N.C. Fisheries Rules 15A NCAC 3H .0103, 3O .0506.

B. It is unlawful to violate the provisions of any proclamation issued by the Fisheries Director under his delegated authority pursuant to N.C. Marine Fisheries Rule 15A NCAC 3H .0103.

C. The requirement for the For-Hire Fishing Permit and eligibility requirements set forth in proclamation M-12-2006 have been codified into N.C. Fisheries Rules 15A NCAC 03O .0501(g) and 03O .0503 (k) effective July 1, 2008.

D. This proclamation supersedes Proclamation M-12-2006, dated September 27, 2006.
